Prayer/Wishing flag ca.1.60 m long, with 4 holding cords for fixed knot (without stick). The practice of wishing flags can be much more than a decorative element of an exotic culture: it is an aesthetic-artistic and deeply spiritual expression of the wish for peace, harmony and happiness on our planet Earth that unites us. The spiritual dimension of this Tibetan custom from the eleventh century also has nothing to do with foreign superstitions, but is part of a process that the Dalai Lama calls the science of mind. A science that refers to intensive observation of nature and mind and the interaction of all phenomena. In this context, it is not surprising that modern medicine and the natural sciences confirm this basic idea today. None of our acts of body, speech and mind remains sterile, each produces a result. This in turn depends on the underlying motivation. Thus, even such a seemingly simple custom as the practice of prayer flags, provided with wishes for our friends, our environment, and also for persons with whom we are in conflict relations, can have a multiple beneficial effect - both for the person who performs this custom with sincere motivation, and for the circle for which this practice is performed. Moreover, the wind touches these prayers and wishes, and with the wind they touch our environment and everything that lives. Their aesthetic - artistic presence reminds us of the power of our wishes and may help us to pause for a moment in our hectic daily lives and dwell in presence. On the level of dzog.chen, bdquo;lung.tha ldquo, describes the transformative state of mind where even obstacles turn into supportive situations on the path. The flags are printed in five different colors and with them the five different elements are touched: Blue: air, White: space, Red: fire, Green: water, Yellow: earth. The wind horse in the middle symbolizes the directness and speed with which the wishes are transmitted. In the upper part are Sanskrit mantras in Tibetan script, which address the spiritual forces of the environment and within ourselves.
