Kalaha - perhaps the oldest board game in the world Kalaha has been played for thousands of years. Game boards were carved into the stones of the Cheops pyramid. Today, Kahala is played in many African and Asian countries. Rules of the game The aim of the game is to collect more marbles than your opponent. With 36 marbles, the first player to have 19 marbles wins. If each player has 18 marbles, the game ends in a draw. The wide playing hollow is called Kalaha. The player owns the playing wells to the right of their own Kalaha. The player whose turn it is empties one of their trays and distributes the marbles, one at a time, counter-clockwise into the following trays. Your own Kalaha is also filled. The opponent`s Kalaha is left empty. If the last ball falls into your own Kalaha, the player has another turn. If the last ball falls into an empty pocket on your own side, this ball and all the balls in the opponent`s pocket opposite are placed in your own Kalaha and the opponent has the next turn.
